On 29 September — 03 October 2008 in Kyiv, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) had conducted the international consultation of countries, which successfully implement HIV/STI prevention projects among uniformed services.

About 90 representatives of military staff, police, peace-keepers and UNFPA representatives from about 20 countries came to Ukraine in order to share experience of such an important educational and prevention work including medical, psychological and social activities.

During the international consultation participants had discussed achievements and problems of implementation of the projects targeted at uniformed people, jointly developed the concept of cooperation between different countries in HIV/AIDS/STI and drug abuse prevention among uniformed services.

The international conference will result in updated UNFPA strategy for cooperation with this important target group.
