The Global Symposium on Engaging Men and Boys in Gender Equality was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 30 March till 3 April 2009, where Ukraine has participated within the framework of "South-South cooperation".
Meeting of JP Steering Committee members with project national coordinators conducted(19-03-2009, 09:08) Dr. Borys Vornyk, Head of UNFPA Office in Ukraine, presided over a meeting of JP Steering Committee members with Project National Coordinators from medical and educational departments that took place March, 11, 2009 at UN House within the frames of the UNFPA/UNDP JP “HIV/STI prevention among uniformed services in Ukraine”.
UNFPA has launched an all Ukrainian information education campaign(11-03-2009, 17:09) Starting March 2009 within framework of sub-component “Support to establishing a comprehensive system of social services for young drug users”(funded by the EU and the United Nations Population Fund) has launched a nation-wide informational-educational campaign (IEC), aimed to promote safe behaviour and prevent drug abuse and HIV/STI among youth.

domestic violence, crimes committed in the name of honour or passion, child
marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting, or sexual violence, which in many
conflict situations has reached alarming proportions, violence against women
and girls constitutes a shameful crime that is too often shrouded in silence
and too seldom punished.
UNFPA conducted the press-conference on EU-UN joint project “HIV/AIDS prevention among Uniformed Services”(24-02-2009, 09:17) On 23 February 2009, the United Nations Population Fund conducted the press-conference “HIV/AIDS prevention among Uniformed Services” within the framework of the UNFPA implemented component of the UNDP/UNFPA Joint Programme “HIV/STI Prevention among the personnel of the Uniformed Services of Ukraine” funded by the European Union. Representatives from medical departments of partner ministries and EC were participated in the event.
