Participation of Dr. Borys Vornyk in the meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: “Forecast of Demographic Development of Ukraine for the period till 2050”
21 November 2007 Dr. Borys Vornyk, UNFPA Assistant Representative in Ukraine took part in the meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where the forecast of demographic development of Ukraine for the period till 2050 was presented and discussed. Also, during the meeting, presentations have been made by Dr. Borys Vornyk, UNFPA Assistant Representative in Ukraine, Ms. Ella Libanova, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Demography and Social Research, as well as by representatives from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
The Press-conference devoted to the upcoming Charitable Gala-Concert "SOStradanie" (Compassion) to support people living with HIV/AIDS was held in «Arena Entertainment» center in Kiev, Ukraine on 21 November 2007.
During 11-16 November 2007 UNFPA had its Global Meeting in Princeton, NJ. The Meeting gathered 298 participants: representatives from all UNFPA country offices, geographic divisions, CSTs, and the HQ. Dr. Borys Vornyk, UNFPA Assistant Representative in Ukraine and Dr. Kostyantyn Talalayev, UNFPA Admin/Finance Associate represented UNFPA Ukraine during the Meeting.
October 19-21, 2007 in the art house "Actor" in Yalta UNFPA Youth Conference «Healthy youth - healthy future» was conducted. The main goal of the conference was to present and discuss successful experience and working results to define challenges and ways of further improvements in the area of youth health.
A knowledge-sharing study tour to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was organized by the UNFPA Country Office in Brazil upon request from the UNFPA Country Office in Ukraine and its national partners involved into STI/HIV infection prevention activities in the uniformed services of Ukraine.
October 19-21, 2007 in the "Art house Actor" in Yalta youth conference will take place, the goal of which is to present and discuss successful experience and work results to define challenges and ways of further development in the area of youth health. Prevention of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STI), drug and psychoactive substances abuse as well as prevention of unwanted pregnancy among youth will be the major topics of discussion.
