UNFPA transferred a VW Transporter – mobile VCT unit to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine
13 October, Kyiv. UNFPA transferred a VW Transporter – VCT unit to the Main medical department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine within the framework of UNFPA/UNDP joint programme "HIV/STI Prevention among Uniformed Services in Ukraine" supported by the European Commission.
The United Nations Population Fund and the Institute of Gerontology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (IG) have conducted the workshop “Organization of social adaptation of older people in Ukraine based on Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing” in Donetsk during September 30 – October 2, 2009. The workshop was organized by the UNFPA CO in Ukraine and IG within the framework of the project “Supporting the Gerontological Information and Counseling Centre”.
Within the collaboration framework between UNFPA CO in Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations, during 27 September – 2 October 2009, UNFPA has organized in Odessa city a workshop “Input of Churches to address the HIV epidemics: counseling aspect”.
The educational workshop “Male involvement into prevention of gender-based violence and discrimination” was held in Odessa during 20-23 September 2009. The workshop was organized by UNFPA CO in Ukraine within the framework of the project “Developing national capacity to reduce discrimination and GBV”.
During October 1-4, 2009 in Odessa, UA United Nations Population Fund has conducted Youth Forum «Healthy Youth — Healthy Future». The goal of the event was to present and discuss the achievements of student and non-governmental organizations in the sphere of popularization of the safe behaviour among youth.
