Our Work in Ukraine

UNFPAs work in Ukraine commenced in 1997 with the implementation of several projects in the area of reproductive health, family planning and prevention on HIV infection and other STIs. The first UNFPA Country Programme for Ukraine was launched in 2006 and implemented in cooperation with the Government of Ukraine,non-governmental organizations and the academic community.

Starting from 2012, UNFPA and its national partnersare implementingthe second Country Programme for Ukrane which focuses on three interlinked areas:
1) Reproductive Health and Rights
2) Population and Development
3) Gender Equality

UNFPA is actively contributing to the UN response to the humanitarian situation. UNFPA leads the coordinationa and response to gender based violence and delivers essential drugs and medical supplies to ensure that women have access to safe delivery care and other reproductive health services.
